Black Stallion Literacy Foundation at Twin Springs

A Big Thank You to all our volunteers [here is a picture of just a few of them] who came to help today with the Black Stallion Literacy Foundation event today at Twin Springs! We could not have done it with out YOU!

Black Stallion Literacy Foundation at Twin Springs

Over 450 1st graders were bussed to the barn today to enjoy a jumping demo and to read Walter Farley's classic, "Little Black, the Pony" to one of the many Twin Springs horses inside their stalls today. There were also stations set up for the children to see grooming tools for horses as well as feed and hay. Robert also brought Frosty the trick horse.

The Rounders at Twin Springs....

The wet weather brought the Rounders from Springdale to enjoy the indoor arena!

The Rounders at Twin Springs....

The Rounders were pleased to have the indoor arena out of the weather!

Aaron Wilsons' Balanced Rider lessons at Twin Springs....

We were glad the weather didn't dampen Aaron Wilson from coming to Twin Springs again! I was amazed, once more, with how much I learned from practicing on his Balanced Rider device; the ball on the 'wooden horse' simulates sitting on the horse balanced. It gives the student opportunity to focus on their own body and getting it correct first without the horse, then applying those same techniques under saddle. You gotta try it! ;)
